The Black Watch (1951) 92m. DRAMA. First sound film directed by John Ford. Victor McLaglen, Myrna Loy, Captain Donald King of the British Army goes to India just as World War I breaks out, convincing his comrades that he is a coward. In reality, he is on a secret mission to rescue British soldiers held prisoner there.
Big News (1929) 66m. MYSTERY. Robert Armstrong, Carole Lombard. A reporter's marriage is jeopardized by his drinking and he finds himself accused of a murder he didn't commit.
Blackmail (1929) 85m., British. CRIME. Alfred Hitchcock's first sound film. Anny Ondra, John Longden. After killing a man in self-defense, a young woman is blackmailed by a witness to the killing.
Broadway Melody (1929) 101m. MUSICAL. Oscar for Best Picture of 1929. Bessie Love and Anita Page are sisters from the vaudeville circuit who try to make it big time on Broadway, but matters of the heart complicate the attempt. With Charles King.
Bulldog Drummond (1929) 90m. CRIME. Ronald Colman is bored WWI veteran who helps out a young woman whose uncle is being held hostage by embezzlers.
The Canary Murder Case (1929) 80m. MYSTERY William Powell is detective Philo Vance. With Jean Arthur and Louise Brooks. Nightclub singer 'the Canary' blackmails acquaintances, ends up murdered. Only witness also killed. Philo Vance investigates to uncover her killer among numerous suspects she had exploited.
Cocoanuts (1929) 93m. COMEDY. The Marx Brothers -- Groucho, Chico, Harpo and Zeppo -- in their first sound feature film. During the Florida land boom, The Marx Brothers run a hotel, auction off some land, thwart a jewel robbery, and generally act like themselves.
Dynamite (1929) 126m. DRAMA. Cecil B. DeMille's first sound film. Wealthy Cynthia is in love with not-so-wealthy Roger, who is married to Marcia. The threesome is terribly modern about the situation, and Marcia will gladly divorce Roger if Cynthia agrees to a financial settlement. But Cynthia's trust fund will expire if she is not married by a certain date.
Eternal Love (1929) 71m. DRAMA. John Barrymore's last silent feature. Directed by Ernst Lubitsch. In the Swiss Alps of the early 19th century, a couple forced into loveless marriages struggle to find happiness with one another.
Four Feathers (1929) 81m. ADVENTURE. When British officer Harry resigns from his regiment, he is labeled a coward by his family and friends. Harry receives four white feathers as a mark of a coward. In order to redeem himself and win the heart of his fiancé back and the love of his best friend, Harry sets out to return the feathers to the pockets they came from. The Greene Murder Case (1929) 68m. MYSTERY. William Powell plays detective Phil Vance. Rich, disdainful Greene family gathers yearly at creepy ancestral castle to discuss will. One by one, they meet untimely demises during current year's gathering under mysterious circumstances.
Hallelujah (1929) 100m. DRAMA. All-black cast, directed by King Vidor. A sharecropper decides to become a preacher after falling for a vamp from the city.

Mysterious Dr. Fu Manchu (1929) 81m. CRIME. Warner Oland is Fu Manchu! During the Boxer Rebellion in China during the early 20th century, in which a Chinese secret society attacked all westerners and anyone who associated with them, Dr. Fu Manchu's wife and child are killed by foreigners. Enraged, he vows to take his revenge on the British army officers he holds responsible for the killings.
Noah's Ark (1928) 99m. ADVENTURE. George O'Brien, Dolores Costello. Directed by Michael Curtiz. The Biblical story of Noah and the Great Flood, with a parallel story of soldiers in the First World War.
On With the Show (1929) 104m. MUSICAL. Arthur Lake, Betty Compson. A musical advertised as the first 100% natural color, all-singing production. Sadly, color copies no longer survive. The plot concerns a wide-eyed former hatcheck girl who takes the place of a rebellious star.
Say It With Songs (1929) 86m. DRAMA/MUSICAL. Al Jolson's first all-talkie picture. Joe Lane kills another man in a fistfight after learning that the man has made improper advances towards his wife. Joe goes to prison for the murder. When Joe gets out of prison, he visits his son "Little Pal" at school. Little Pal tries to follow Joe downtown, but is hit by a truck.
Show Boat (1929) 119m. DRAMA. Reconstructed from the silent and sound versions. Laura LaPlante, Joseph Schildkraut. A mostly silent version of Edna Ferber's original novel, with some songs from the musical as a last-minute addition.
Spite Marriage (1929) 76m. COMEDY. Buster Keaton's last silent film. An unimpressive but well intending man is given the chance to marry a popular actress, of whom he has been a hopeless fan. But what he doesn't realize is that he is being used to make the actress' old flame jealous.
The Virginian (1929) 92m. WESTERN. Gary Cooper's first talking picture. A good-natured cowboy who is romancing the new schoolmarm has a crisis of conscience when he discovers that his best friend is engaged in cattle rustling. With Walter Huston, Mary Brian.
Welcome Danger (1929) 113m. COMEDY. Harold Lloyd's first sound film. Harold Bledsoe, a botany student, is called back home to San Francisco, where his late father had been police chief, to help investigate a crime wave in Chinatown. With Barbara Kent, Noah Young.
Where East is East (1929) 67m. DRAMA. Lon Chaney, Lupe Velez. Directed by Tod Browning. When an animal trapper in Indo-China finds that his daughter's fiancé is being successfully seduced by her estranged mother, he takes appropriate action.
The Wild Party (1929) 76m. DRAMA. Clara Bow first sound film. With Fredric March. Wild girls at a college pay more attention to parties than their classes. But when one party girl, Stella Ames, goes too far at a local bar and lands in trouble, her professor must rescue her. Gossip linking the two escalates until Stella proves that she is decent by shielding an innocent girl and winning the professor's respect.
